Jo Wei is a curator and researcher, currently a researcher of Art, Science and technology (AST) in the Central Academy of Fine Arts(CAFA). Her recent research interests focus on AST, including BioArt, AI and EcoArt, the history of AST and curatorial research, etc. She has planned several cross-border forums/lectures on technology and humanities, including "The Editable Future: The Technical, Philosophical, Legal and Artistic Dimensions of Gene Editing" (Art Museum of Central Academy of Fine Arts), "Cybernetics, Art and Digital Culture" (Ullens Center for Contemporary Art). ), and has taught courses on "Bio Art" and "Eco Art" at the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
Among the list of her many curations are “Bamboo as Method”(2021),”Quasi-Nature: Bio Art, Borderline, Laboratory” (2019), “Ars Electronica in Shenzhen” (2019). She is also an International Adviser for the European Commission’s STARTS Prize(2019), and the member of the International Program Committee of ISEA(2020), the Member of Scientific committee of the International conference CONSCIOUSNESS REFRAMED(2019) and the academic committee of The Thinker. She also writes a column on "Technology and Art+" for Xinrui Weekly.
